Here's my starting 11.
Hart
Johnson, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gerrard, Lallana,
Barkley, Rooney, Sturridge.

I'd go similar to that.

But can see Barkley being used as sub. At least at first.
I know, that's my hopeful starting 11, but it all depends how ambitious Hodgson is as I can see Henderson being in instead of Barkley, as cover for Gerrard's legs.

Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Gerrard Henderson
Chamberlain/Sterling Rooney Lallana
Sturridge

Won't happen, can definitely see Milner starting on the right instead.

chamberlain and sterling aren't in the same league, AOC should be one of england's shoe ins. yet i don't see many put him in their team, weird.

Hart
P.Jones Cahill Jagielka Baines
AOC Gerrard Lallana Milner
Rooney
Sturridge
I know it's not exciting but johnson's an utter liability at RB, with the ox, i think england can afford to not have both full backs bombing on and jones is solid enough out at RB. Milner always plays in city's big games, why shouldn't he be playing for england? you'll have baines bombing down the wing, so milner will offer you cover as well as hard working tracking back. unleash the pace near the end of the game.

i wouldn't have picked gerrard myself, but england have terrible centre mid options and as he's captain he'll obviously play. carrick would have been a better option and barkley can play there or further forward if lallana doesn't work out. lallana is a much better option than the static wilshere who i think will be picked.

I would. If he's 100% then he's in my team no question.

a majority of people i see discussing teams in the media don't have him there - i don't understand, he's 2nd best winger behind hazard in the prem imo. by a large large way as well.

He's even decent in the middle too for me.

Your team with Lallana along side Gerrard. Not for me that.

Lallana doesn't really play there. He's an out wide move in attacking mid for me.

i know, but any midfield with gerrard in it will look poor. he's not a defensive mid, they haven't picked one. Think carrick next to barry and then having three attacking players behind a striker could have worked.

you can't play gerrard wiith lampard because it didn't even work with both in their prime. the other options are henderson lol, wilshere lol and barkley, who's pretty much the same as lallana as in more of an attacking mid than centre mid - somebody has to play there though! ha.

rooney needs to be up front, milner??

whatever team that goes out there is going to struggle to get out of the group.

When you have the back 5 almost picking itself plus Rooney and Gerrard, that leaves only 4 positions to fill and it has to be attacking Sturridge, Lallana, Chamberlaine and Barkley for me.

Roy'll go with:

Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Henderson Gerrard
Sterling Rooney Milner
Sturridge
Which is a decent team but I seriously doubt we'll get out of the groups with that, mainly because Gerrard is crap as a defensive mid. Seriously if I was the manager I'd have dropped Gerrard like a stone a tournament ago and picked Carrick in his place and then give the captaincy to Hart.

What I wish we would go with:

Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Henderson Wilshere
Barkley
AOC Sturridge
Rooney
I'd rather have Carrick, Barry or at least one defensive mid who'd take Henderson's place and a competent right back but beggars can't be choosers. Anyway that team wouldn't do much better but at least it will provide something different and a modicum of passing ability. I reckon Sturridge would do well coming off the left like he does for Liverpool with Rooney being given license to do what he likes. End of the day though whatever team we pick wouldn't know chemistry if it bit them on the arse and will probably finish with a quarter final exit on pens somehow.

For me, we replicate 1966, wingless wonders!

Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Baines
Gerrard
AOC Hendersen
Lallana
Rooney Sturridge

Barkley, Wilshere, Sterling, Welbeck and Lambert all decent options off of the bench.
