Who should be the next England Manager?

I'd take a gamble on AVB. Not great in the transfer market, but he wouldn't have to be. Top coach by all accounts though.

I'd stick with Roy. Give him the chance to actually work with this new generation coming through and get rid of overbearing "stars". Not a great deal of point chopping and changing just because of two games.

There is no other option... at the moment.
The FA have already said no sack for Roy.

i) either they are giving him a chance, some Euro qualifiers maybe, to see if he can get out of the hole he's in and he does actually HAVE a plan of his own and not a Red Top / Chattering Classes wish list.

ia) His teams must not only win but win with style panache and elan, or failing that, lose or draw with style panache and elan...it's no good beating Nomark-istan 2-1 at Wembley with a pen and a set piece and thinking, on the back of that, you will do the same to the Germans and other top draw sides.

ii) they see no candidate at present available.

iii) they don't have a 'kin clue and, the odd exception not withstanding, never have.

iv) All of the above in some proportion.

IMO; Having had supposed top draw 'proven'(?) bosses - Sven etc. They need a Roberto Mk II - a whole heap of luck that some better than average players suddenly show up - and this Roberto Mk II must be really really good at making sows ears play like silk purses ( no moyesish candidates please )

Honestly...Herrera from Mexico is completely mental, but he's completely saved Mexico from itself. That team was in shambles only a few months ago. Not saying him like...but it's really amazing the difference a manager can make.

VERY impressed with the rapid turnaround.

Aye, it's about man management and motivation at this level, and Herrera (aka Barney Rubble) has produced magic.

If we're thinking of inspiring, intelligent men to manage England, well the list is short I suppose, as I mentioned before Gary Neville seems to have had a positive influence of late. Redknapp is another but for obvious reasons won't be in the reckoning. Beckham is busy with other commitments. Alan Shearer? Not an obvious candidate, but gave 100% for club and country, a snide too, you never know.

Get one of the media experts to do it. They seem to have all the answers, so they must be the only way forward.
