If they had to chase someone for 20 minutes a day then yesDid they count firing a gun as exercise?
Alot of kids/adolescents here play sports year round in addition to the wider range of "popular sports" which helps bring in kids with different interests. We dont become "fat americans" til we're older. Trending the wrong way though as its gone up since 2002.Interesting that the % of American adolescents that are 'inactive' is lower than quite a few places, including here, although we are 'trending' (ugh) in the right direction at least. Italy and Russia going badly the wrong way tho.

It's not cheaper to eat ready meals. Not in the slightest. Folk just either don't have the time to cook, or can't be bothered to.The crazy thing in the UK is that it's much cheaper to eat high fat convenience food than fresh decent stuff. Hence the rise in obesity across the board in certain parts of the U.K.
Plus you tend to find that if parents played sport when they were young, that they are more likely to encourage their own kids to play sport too.
A mate who is a dietitian reckons that obesity coupled with lack of physical activity is a massive health time bomb waiting to go off .

Easy to see how someone who works long hours and isn't making much money would rather just grab fast food due to conveince. The crazy thing in the UK is that it's much cheaper to eat high fat convenience food than fresh decent stuff. I expect they just couldn't bare to be patronising by Jamie Oliver.I do agree to a point mate, however imo it's a mixture of laziness, the fact that people don't know how to cook anymore and the convenience of being able to buy a family size pizza from the likes of Iceland for about two quid, that's ready in 20mins. In a lot of households both parents work full time, so the easy option for many is convenience food. I don't support this by the way, it's just how it is. You've only to look at that programme Jamie Oliver did, where he went into a school and came up with healthy menus for the school dinners. He gave up in the end as parents where buying their kids Big Macs and passing them through the gates at lunch time. There are people who just don't care and you're never going to get through to them. They're the problem.
