Who are you?

Or seems they have fired Zack Starkey again for the second time in less than a month.
He was fired the first time because Daltrey though his drumming was “a bit loud”, then after a lot of public outcry and confusion, they rehired him again.
Seems they have changed their mind again.
Or perhaps they forgot they had rehired him?

Nobody is forced to buy a ticket are they? I think most people might expect that they won't be at the peak of their powers. As is often the case with bands that are knocking on a bit, there's probably a whole slew of tribute bands who can in some ways sound better, or bring more energy. Watching some young pretender windmilling down at the nags head is just not the same as seeing bona fide legends though is it?

Should they still be performing at their age? They can do whatever they want. Even if it is just a cash grab, so what? They're just looking after their family ultimately, aren't they? No way they'll need to spend a penny this will earn before they die.

Isn’t Zack going on tour with Oasis?

A couple of years ago I went to see Jethro Tull again, first time since 1992. Now Ian Anderson isn't exactly a youngsters and I did worry whether his voice and energy would be the same, or if the whole experience would just be depressing, leaving me feeling sad for the passage of time.

It took the first phrase of the first song for me to realise I had nothing to worry about. Quite how sone of these can keep going so well, despite their age, baffles me.
A lot of miming to backing tapes goes on these days. There are YT channels that analyse the audio from different nights and show that the waveforms are identical, which can only be a recording. The Eagles being one guilty party.

Not in this case. His voice had aged, but was still sparkling.

Seen them twice. First time at Wembley, with Eddie Vedder supporting. Not great. Then a couple of years ago at Sandringham with Ashcroft. They had orchestra with them and were brilliant.

I went to see The Wurzels (I know ) recently. They were quite good to be fair. During the last song of their set each member of the band left the stage one by one. The sound didn't change one bit. Not even when there was no-one left playing on stage ...

Roger Daltrey is not here for your half-assed farewell tour. The Who frontman just told the Daily Mail he’s not dragging himself back onstage at 81 “with someone who doesn’t want to be there”—aka Pete Townshend, who recently compared their farewell to flogging a dead horse and reminded everyone (again) that performing doesn’t “fill [his] soul.” Sure, Pete’s still good once he’s under the stage lights—something about childhood hypnotism and a dentist?—but Daltrey’s clearly not interested in dragging an emotionally ghosted bandmate across America just to watch boomers cry to Baba O'Riley. This all comes after Zak Starkey’s maybe-firing, maybe-gaslighting, and the band apparently not even pretending a new album is in the cards. The tour’s called The Song Is Over. The drama isn’t.

Even Pete doesn’t want to be there apparently..

I like one or two songs by them, but easily the most boring of the big 5 bands of that era (inc. Beatles, Stones, Led Zep & Floyd) for me anyway.

Daltrey is a horrid tory bellend as well and the less said about Townshend the better.
