Which teams need a better manager? (Which teams don't?)

Jamo Martinez

Player Valuation: £70m
Not many on here would say Hodgson is the best man for the England job but what about other national teams?

Is Wilmots getting the most out of an undoubtedly talented (though overhyped imo) group in the Belgian squad?

France also seem to have an exciting bunch of promising youngsters and really talented seasoned pros. Could someone do a better job than Deschamps?

May not be the best generation of Dutch players taking over from the old guard but surely they should at least qualify.

Then there's the other side of the coin. My Italian father in law says this is the worst side he's seen so is already delighted with results.

And what next for Spain and Germany as it looks likely that Del Bosque and Low will be standing down?

The following weeks will obviously answer a lot of these questions but we'll all enjoy vaulting others' opinions when hindsight kicks in at the end of the tournament.

Sad to say, but Hodgson is probably the best we have got. We have had this topic before, some have said Redknapp or Alladyce. Both decent in thier own right but only did well imo when dealing in the transfer market- could they do it at international level. Personally I doubt it. Maybe another non- English manager should come in, but who, is up for debate.

England & Belgium.

Hodgson's a fraudulent, fagin wannabe. Only picks players from four agencies, he'a deffo on a bunce from transfer fees...

Wilmots doesn't seem to get the best from a very talented squad.

Dont agree with your opinion about Hodgson mate, think most managers would have picked 80% of the squad that Hodgson picked. Its the best we have.

Was talking to my mate about England manager.

Not an actual clue who else could do it.

Same here mate. Its a difficult job because of the media pressure that comes with it. Would love to see a top quality English manager doing it but there just isnt anyone

Belgium is clearly the best example.

England not so much......Hodgson is an awful manager all right, but England have a very poor crop of players right now and it would be hard for anyone to get a tune out of them IMO.

A piss-poor draw against the worst side in the group (And one of the worst in the tournament) and a spawny, dead late win against Wales - and you think he's good enough?

He said anyone who'd just returned from injury wouldn't be selected; but shoehorned horrenderson & wheelchair in. (And, it could be argued, sturridge)

He said he'd take in-form players, then omitted drinkwater who had played rather well in a friendly/friendlies, but took lallana, who's just shabbite, putting it mildly.

And then there's £49m's worth of turd in sterling...

I can't find the page, but I read about how hodgson selects players from four agencies over better choices. One of them's something to do with his mate John Colquhoun, called key sports management, another called Stellar something, can't remember the name of the other two.

He chooses nigh-on exclusively from them only.

The man's a fraud, and he's not kidding me. Sack the arl fagin. In fact, jail him.

I have never stated he is good enough, I have said he is imo the best English manager.available. Also, what he does regarding transfer only happens in the domestic league. Havnt Redknapp and Alladyce done the similar. Who would your manager be and what your 23 man squad be? As I said in an earlier post, most people would have 80% of the present squad

Mate, he's a journeyman manager, with the faintest whiff of success about him - and I mean faint. He's in it to make a few shillin' , and he's not arsed about owt else now as he'll retire soon. All the job is to him is the last biggest chance to cash in.

But as for the agencies I mentioned, let's take leon osman.

Woy gives him a cap (Why, ffs?) and next salute he's linked with a £6m move to spurs....Which didn't happen; and that was the end of his *ahem* fledgling england career...

Osman £6m? 'king L.O.L.

I note you mention Hairy Kidnap & Sham Avaslice....No decidedly shady dealings with them & agents there, eh? Sham's lad'd be the highest-paid agent on the planet if his arl fella was England boss.

I said Redknapp and Alladyce because of there dealings in the transfer market. Back on topic, who would you have as manager?

Which goes to show what a great job woy's doing by selecting the cack that he does. No difference.

I'd have Eddie Howe. And I'd keep him there for many years.

The mainstream media would have the neviles, and they get their way more often than not.
