Obviously we're all married to Everton for life, and she'll always come first no matter what. But that still doesn't stop us enjoying a bit of company with someone else now and again...'tis only natural.

Over the years I've particularly enjoyed watching:

- Germany 1990 (Lothar Matthäus...that is all).

- late-90's Man Utd (Cole & Yorke partnership was perfection at times, telepathic even...and the team's arrogance with its never-say-die attitude just had to be grudgingly admired).

- early-00's Arsenal (Henry, Pires, Bergkamp, Ljungberg and co...stunningly brilliant attacking football. This team scored so many memorable goals, and Henry looked like the best player in the world for a while...but the peachiest goal for me was Bergkamp's flick-twist-turn vs Newcastle).

- late-90's/early-00's Real Madrid (Ronaldo, Carlos, Figo, Raul and the majestic regal Zidane, who played the game as if it was in slow-motion...that was a proper dream team for the ages).

- 2005/06 Werder Bremen (Klose played like a more zen-like version of Thierry Henry in this season, and Werder generally were sublime, artful and well tasty in their football).

- Barcelona Guardiola-era (Spain are boring, but mightily effective...but Spain + Messi are mesmerising. This team played God's Football...there are no words fit to describe it - the closest I can come is if you imagine the Final Boss in the hardest football game ever...).

What are yours?

I take it You never saw the 1970 Brazil team

Or the 69-70 team; they could've beat them and the 84-85 team would've 'made sure' they beat them ( they don't like it up em )

Teams I 'followed'

N Ireland with the young Whiteside

Big Jacks Republic teams

Roger Milla's Camaroon.

Bob Stokoe's Sunderland

Looking at that list it seems to be all underdogs in knockout comps

Just a big old sentimental softie me

Oh and when I drew Wimbledon in the works sweep in the 4th round ( last 64 ) I've never cheered so much or laughed so hard or enjoyed spending RS's money so much ( it was about 60-40 to them where I worked in widnes )

Milan, early 90s.

Maldini, Gullit, Rijkard, Baresi, van Basten, Simeone, Costecurta... and more.

Boring at times, then they would just explode and bang goals in.

That utd treble season was quality. Loved Italian football in general in the 90's mainly Milan. Love watching videos of the late 80's Napoli and sacchi's milan. Romario and bebeto USA 94. I do like what Klopp has achieved at Dortmund though its mad how well he has done.

Lyon 2002 on-wards, some great players in that team, still watch any game I can, long way from having Juninho and Benzema but still a good watch.

Porto, liked them for a while but only really started paying attention the last two years. James Rodriguez will be a star.

zenit, fans are douchebags, but some players are fantastic.

France - early to mid 80s- Platini (Tit as a suit but what a joy to watch), Giresse, Tigana, Rochteau.

Denmark - mid 80s. Morten Olsen, Jesper Olsen, Lerby, Arnesen, Elkjaer and the young Michael Laudrup

Celta De Vigo - late 90s early 00s. - Mazinho, Makelele, Karpin, Revivo and Mostovoi.

All delightful to watch. All devastatingly brilliant. All vunerable rather than all conquering, making it all so, so watchable.

Real Madrid. White kit. Boss ground. Plus I hate Barca.

IL Tromso. I took to them while I was serving over in Norway.

Too young to have followed them at the time but, 1974 Dutch Team. Probably my favourite team ever. Got heaps of DVD's with them on. Just amazing!

Stockport County, especially during their run in the late 90's where they were dangerously close to being "alright"

Big Jack's Ireland teams (As mentioned earlier in the thread)

Scotland at France '98 (Boy did that all end in tears!)

Hibs (Don't know why I do it to myself. Could just have easily been a Celtic fan, but I guess I don't like doing things the easy way)

Rooted for Greece at Euro 2004 once England got knocked out
