After extensive research, i'm about to go big and launch my own repair company using sawdust and woodchips.
However, I need to be able to see and identify microbiological stuff, things like bacteria, fungal hyphae, protozoa, etc. Apparently some fungi now digest plastic, and I need to make sure there's a healthy colony of fungal predators present in the sawdust so I don't get stuff I'm fixing eaten.
Anyone used a cheapo Amscope ? Looking at a trinocular one with 5m pixel camera. Obviously, once I've made it big I'll get an Olympus.
Bloody ell m8, thanks, but they're well out of my league. I can go to 400quid max, so I'm in Chinese Amscope territory (we can't get Swift here and they may be out of my range for the Tri w/ camera too). As well as the sawdust job, I also need it for microbial level vermiculture/soil/plant monitoring, but it's only a small market garden/farm operation.Recommend an Olympus or Nikon. Never used a Zeiss.

Haha, yeah I know, probably the best option for those working out of a shed.400 quid? You’ll need to do good work to find a frustrated lab worker then some for a good door man. Make sure you don’t get caught on camera. Maybe scope it out ahead of time so you know what you’re grabbing.

What do you think of cheaposcopes
Like this, or this one.
Idiot.Just turn your telescope the other way round.
