So where to now? It's another disappointing season with an underwhelming Everton plodding through and hoping for another second half revival. One things for sure, we won't be seeing European football for quite some time.

There's been a huge backdrop to the season about the financial situation that the club is in, and fair enough it does need need improvement and fast. There has been far less fingers pointing at how the team is going out and playing football every week, which is really what's it's all about, isn't it?

Moyes has been good for Everton and Everton have been good for Moyes. That doesn't mean that he should be immune from criticism or questioning of how he performs his role. There's just too many things than wrankle this season and have started having me question if he is the right man to move forward with us.

The faith in players who are out of form is one thing, for instance why persist with Cahill for this long without benching him? He clearly isn't firing and sixteen goals in fifteen games with not a single one for Cahill shows this. Same for Neville, he shouldn't have started that game today and most certainly should not have finished it. Why are we setting up with two defensive minded midfielders against (with all due respect to Norwich) one of the most average teams of players I've seen play in a top flight Goodison game?

The subs are frustrating as there's an element of OCD about it, with a seeming aversion to changes before the sixty minute mark no matter how dull the performance. Take for instance today, is it really gonna make a difference changing one striker for another in the 89th minute? Why not change it earlier and give it a chance. Stoke Manager Tony Pullis pulled off Jonathan Woodgate after less than half an hour today as he was having a tough time against the Wolves centre forwards. Stoke did them proceed to win the game, not just because of this decision mind, but you get the picture.

One area Moyes has done well in has been transfers, I'm currently questioning the wisdom of letting Vaughan, Yakubu & Beckford go this year and replacing them with an Argentinian forward who doesn't look anywhere near suited to English football.

Drenthe came on changed the game, he willingly ran directly at the average Norwich defence and caused them all sorts of problems. Might he have warranted a start? What about basic things such as focusing on the opposition's weakeness. Kyle Naughton got booked today after ten minutes. Did he trouble him thereafter, I mean really?

Throughout this we're treated to an ashen faced David Moyes speaking to the media about the difficulties he encounters due to the financial restrictions in his role and how hard it is to compete. Correct me if I'm wrong but we've got a squad full of internationals there to work with. It's not quite a Mike Walker or Walter Smith squad yet, so get them out there going after teams, grabbing them by the throat instead of predictable prudence in our approach.

It's probably another post match flounce to be honest, but thought I'd put it into a thread.

The worrying thing mate is that I said the same kind of thing last week. But does anything change?

Excellent little write up anyway. Completely agree.

I would love to see you write all that with 1 hand tied behind your back, thats what Moyes is doing.

I just love the way everybody glosses over the pink elephant in the stands.

Meh, im clearly in the minority these days, but oh well.

I think after today, Cahill MUST be dropped. Stracqualursi made a difference and contributed more in the minutes he's been one than Cahill has in a while. For me, Drenthe must start every game as well.

Gueye looked quite good. and McAleny had another really good showing today.

We battered Norwich at periods today, and I think there will be enough there today in the second half to show Moyes that changing the system and paying two strikers up front is better than what we've been doing previously. We definitely have the players to really change things up and contribute to the team, but Moyes has to learn to drop players that aren't performing like Cahill.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

I think Kenwright and our board are inept and doing all the wrong things.

I also think that, whilst taking the above into consideration, Moyes is doing all the wrong things with what he does have. And is looking as inept as he is negative.

They've both very much culpable of the position were in now mate.

I disagree totally.

Moyes is actually trying to change certain things.

Gueye started today, Vellios started the other day, its not the wholesale changes that are clearly needed, but hes at least having a go.

Yes, I know Neville started today, if Rodwell was fit he wouldnt have, yes I know Barkley could have started, but its a lot of pressure, 18 years old, he missplaces a few passes and then "our wonderful supporters" jump all over him, like they do with everybody.

Its really starting to pee me off the way everybody just dismisses the lack of new players and the sale of old players, its a factor, it really is.

It is a factor -- and a big one -- but not the only factor. And yet the finances are the only thing that get addressed. I think some fans are just finally realising "hang on a minute, we've got way better players than these performances".

Gueye replaced Bily and Ossie was played in the dreaded RM role, otherwise it was like for like. I don't see that as a big change. Vellios got one chance up top instead of Saha, but it was the same tactics and build up and formation.

He is not "having a go" mate. Two defensive midfielders, one proper striker, late subs, every man back for corners... at home to Norwich.

It appears I stand corrected on my shooting / shots = goals theory. 15 on target, 13 off target, and we still scrape a goal.

Our 8 defensive players should have done better.

In fact, it's Hibbo's fault, as he missed a sitter.

Well its pointless me trying to even argue any points, mainly cos I have none.

Im not happy with the way we are playing, but I just dont feel Moyes should take all of the blame.

I think the players should take a bit, Kenwrong should take the most and Moyes should take a little.
