Hello, newby here. At the age of 42 I've finally come to accept that I will never play for Everton.

I knew I was a toffee when we lost the 85 cup final. Anyone can enjoy seeing a team win, but to feel the pain of defeat takes a real fan. I was only 7 and I cried for ages. I'd made a little flag and everything

When I was taken to my first game and saw the green green grass of Goodison for the very first time.

Funnily enough, I bought some lawn food off the internet about 2 weeks ago. Sprinkled it on my garden with gay abandon, and now after this bit of rain we’ve had the lawn is magnificent. It made me think of Goodison and that first time.

Due to my gardening skills my lawn always reminds me of Goodison too ;)

In the 1950's/60's that was a normal quality of a pitch. Just below the prongs of the forks, you can see a reflection of a segment of the crowd.
