When Did Footballers Stop Tucking There Shirts In?

Fashions and styles in football come and go, and i only pretty remember back to the early 90s, and obviously seen a fair bit from the 80s, were the majority of players loved a tucked in shirt
Some Excellent Shirt Tucking in from the Brazil 1998 Side

You obviously had your mavericks like Big Dunc, George Best, Platini & Steve Claridge who would go against the grain and untuck

You had the great Shaka Hislop who went against the grain and went one better and went humungous in the 90s, but as he got older, got more sensible

So going back to my point, when was the exact time the ratio of shirts out beat shirts tucked in? Was there a meeting? It used to help us decide who were the cool players and who were the squares!

Some honorable mentions for your favorite shirts out/shirts in players
Even better would be the rarely spotted half in/half out players

I think Shaka Hislop went big at the start becaise he was very skinny then tucked at the end to stop his belly flopping about.

Practical.

Rodri tucks his shirt in and he's great. More should do it.

He never tucked it in.

You might of actually cottoned onto something here?

Aesthetically was it the skinnier footballer not tucking in? While the rest that loved a Tuesday club would tuck in?

As football has got so sports sciencey and they all drink there own pee, everyone is ripped so no need for the tuck in?

Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Neville x2, Seaman, Shearer, Heskey, Campbell.

The Golden generation kept it tucked.

Think the tops have generally became more fitted over the past couple of decades.

Will probably start going the other way again now to coincide with the fashion.

Think it was Spurs? Who had a proper skin tight one a few years ago.
