Does anyone remember when crowd segregation came in at goodison park? Talking to my Dad I was surprised he said there wasn't an away section when he used to go.

1979/80 season was when they bricked off the back of the Park end. The terrace that remained, held,I would guess around 6000 people at a push? They put a barrier about a third of the way across, and depending on how big the travelling support was, they'd have either the bigger section or smaller section and Everton fans would have the other one, apart from the derby game,Man Utd and FA cup ties when the whole end would be given over. After a couple of seasons, they ended up just giving the whole end of the ground to away fans,it was a bit of a pitiful sight really, seeing maybe a few hundred Luton or Norwich (just for example) fans in an end that maybe held about 8000 (upper and lower tiers).

It was before the wall was built.
Can't remember who was playing first game of the season but our skinhead was there he stuck out,at that time .
Anyway everyone was queuing waiting for the gates to open to get in the park end when the stewards of the time, who were just al fellas, walked up and said away supporters only lads, and thats when the enclosure was used for the chaps.
The proper segregation was when the wall was built, but sometimes a police line was before the wall,Newcastle, Chelsea spring to mind.
Bob Latchford 30 goal game was fun under the concourse, ciggies, anyone?
The chaps used to frequent the park end by the barrier, but the view was rubbish.
It was easy to sneak in to either side tbh .
