Wasn't as good as I'd have hope mate, but could be worse...how was the Exams today lovely.X
I had a friend who bought one (or at least a 3 series BMW) and, despite maintaining it well, had really bad luck and paid copious amounts of money to mechanics and the likes, then sold it for cheap (which makes me regret not buying it as I was looking for a car and had the money)...Very expensive when things go wrong, Auntie had a 318ci and looked after it well, full service history from a bmw specialist (not BMW themselves) and she had it for 5 years with no issues before upgrading to the newer one last year. My neighbor had one and she clearly didn't have a clue how to drive with the well kerbed alloys and dents galore and her general car know how was poor, she got rid after a few months after she replaced the gearbox within a month before she got rid for cheap because 'the feller who sold her it was dodgy and never told her about the engine smoke. Like with Brownie i'd wager he looks after his motor moreso then my neighbor did.
The last bit is so so important and people seem to not realise it. My grandad is one of those people, bless him, as every single time I go back I have to repair something. Sometimes it's nothing big, you know, but even small things can lead to bad things really quickly (as they did a while back) and I'd prefer to see to them quickly. I have an old car as well, which makes it even more vulnerable to these things!Never had a problem with it (touch wood). I know it can be expensive if anything does go wrong but it will be fine if it is well maintained
