There was a thing a while back (during the riots) analyzing whether shutting down social media/BBM would have made any difference. The general consensus (by a bloke from Liverpool Uni as it happens - http://www.liv.ac.uk/psychology/sta...sychology - Final Submission Draft (14-9).pdf) was that it would be a waste of time as by the time you got to that stage, people would already be primed to do bad things so it would be too late.

Much better to attack the source of this rather than the symptom. Why are people being radicalised?

What's the reason for this?

So that when the fraud is booted out he can say "see I told you so" when/if something bad happens. Like it'd have made any difference whatsoever, as tech evolves and these people would just use an end to end service if need be, or Tor.

The man is a gutless, spineless idiot and I can't wait to see the last of his smarmy face in a few months, along with Gideon and Pickles.

The worst thing about this sort of thing is that major governments barely even need to pretend anymore to have another agenda for bringing in new laws and enforcing more controls over their voters like this, and they still generally get away with it.

It will get to the point where the PM or President or whoever is on TV saying..."we need to go over here and invade Kurdistan because they are persecuting these other people and its really baaa......ah i couldn´t be bothered, we want oil. All of it. Will slaughter for oil and money"

Imagine Osama whatsapping Muqtada al-sada

"Yo Homie, Just chillin listening to a bit of Whitney, Americans are bad people, with gooood musak, Lets bomb shizz Friday??? KIT"

I think he'll be got rid of by his own party if he doesn't win a majority this time, which I can't see him doing.
I don't see Labour or Conservative winning a majority and both parties know that. I don't see that as grounds for ousting Cameron, to be honest.

But you do quite often see leaders quit when they lose an election so you could be right, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I wouldn't take too much notice of such a comment by the PM. Personally, I see it is nothing more than 'rhetoric' with regards to fighting terrorism.

Ask yourself: are services such as Whatsapp and Snapchat really beyond the reaches of the Security Services?

Legally yes, hence calls for its banning. However, at some level I am sure they'll have some form of access. They've already shown capabilities.
