What's the worst band you've seen live?

Its funny how we see things differently. Yes it was the same show. Im amazed you don't recall the 'heavies' at the front of the stage down in the stalls (or maybe you were elsewhere I don't know). I was in the stall about 5 rows back on the right and what I remember was these guys looked like they just come off the docks - they were really old too. A girl by me got smacked by one of them and another bloke a few rows behind got absolutely hammered by about 3 of them for having a go at them for hitting the girl. It was horrible all through the Skynyrd set. My mate recalls it well when he was back from Florida last year too.
I was in the company of Gavin Sutherland some years back and he remembered the night too oddly. They decided to get well out of The Empire before the shows end to avoid any backstage madness. Glad you enjoyed it though and were safe!

That's crazy! I was downstairs on the right closer to the back. I recall a whole row of what looked like Hells Angels types who were rocking in an ensemble manner. Most of my attention was focused on a rather beautiful brunette close by. LOL!

Seriously though, I am glad it passed me by. I know they first played there as support to Golden Earring. Did they play Liverpool again with Steve Gaines at a show just before the plane crash? I Googled but the information wasn't at hand.

I saw BOC in '77. They played there in '75 and my friends told me that it was the 'best gig ever'. They were horrifyingly bad in '77.

I didn't go to the Aerosmith show. I believe that it set new standards in atrocious gigs.

REM. Was travelling through Europe in '95 and they were playing at the Slavia Praha stadium. Tickets were only £10. Plus the support line up was The Levellers, and Belly. Really didn't give a crap about REM but was a fan of The Levellers, and had heard good things about Belly.

Anyway it was when they were having "health" problems on the tour, and we were outside the stadium when the gig was called off. Had to go to some dodgy promoters office in a Prague back street to try to get a refund - they wanted credit card numbers (even though we'd paid cash) and needless to say never saw anything back.

Finally saw them in London a few years later at Earls Court. Ticket off a tout at face value (£30) and Oh. My. God. They were dreadful. Apparently renowned for it, their gigs are either great or gash.

Tanya Donnelly had the voice of an angel.

I saw REM at The Royal Court on their first tour. Not bad really. I quite liked them, but in no way did they suggest the status they have achieved since.

Had to stand through 30 seconds to mars while waiting for Rammstein at this years download festival and have never been so bored at a festival.
