What's the Opinion of Oviedo getting more time on the pitch, but as a Left winger?

Oviedo did last year, Garbutt has this season. Even baines had a little run earlier in the season were he looked better

We played wingers last year.

When Garbutt has played we have given him a winger and Besic to babysit him.

Baines has had zero cover all season.

Re-watch the games Friend, you will see I am correct.

Baines and Coleman have suffered with the lack of actual wingers, leaving an unbalanced team.

Wrong Friend, the defensive mids are the ones who are supposed to come over to cover, we've always had high wingers under Roberto

Anyways, not trying to make a point of slagging him, my entire point is the others have been more impresive at various times and the manager shouldnt be afraid to play the man in form not the name

The DMs are meant to cover the FBs yes, but what happens when there is an oppo FB and winger attacking flank? Thats when the winger comes back and helps out, if theres no winger it means the FB cant push forward otherwise it leaves a flank exposed.

Football 101 Friend.

Who are these magical defensive wingers Garbutts had helping him then?

Exactly the same as baines has had.

In this game notice we have 2 wingers, nobody mentioned defensive wingers, just normal wingers that come back and cover their LB, also I recall Besic babysitting the leftside for most of the game, rarely has Baines had this luxury.

With Pienaar looking done for, and Atsu barely featuring we really do have a shortage of players who can play on the left. That means he's got to be worth a go, especially as neither Pienaar or Atsu (assuming they both go) will generate much money for a replacement. He's got to be better than Naismith or Barkley out there, hasn't he?

Not sure that he has fully overcome his leg break. At the time of that injury he was very good but playing form the middle if I remember correctly.
