He did it 3 times and then immediately corrected himself...am sure you can forgive it given its 1hr 20 long!

I like the Tifo lads, but as someone who works in media, as a freelancer, it's annoying when people who claim to be experts and get very righteous about it make silly mistakes.

Especially when as a freelancer you have to strive so hard for perfection to even get a foot in the door with decent outlets like Tifo, many of whom don't even have the courtesy to reply.

Really? The standard of journalism/writing/accuracy I generally see from football freelancers online is absolutely dire.

Well if you want to be good at what you do, then yes.

I'm not trying to act big headed. I'm pretty good at what I do and I work bloody hard. The Tifo lot are exceptionally good, but it'd have been nice if they'd have beefed their podcast up with someone who actually has knowledge of the club as well.

Well yeah but that’s the same with anything.

Feel like I see a lot of truly horrendous articles written by freelancers who seem to manage to keep getting work.

Not putting you in that category - aside from anything else, no idea who you are!!

Oh no mate, knew you weren't going at it like that.

It tends to be that freelancers have to work very hard but it's part of the gig.

It's hard to distinguish now between someone who's qualified and then someone who just thinks they can do it because they have Twitter.

It tends to be the same old freelancers - the high profile ones at least - who get the work. And their names are everywhere. Call them out on something, and they don't like it. But meh, it's the way it is.

The Tifo guys run a good service/product and know their stuff. But it's pretty amateur to get it wrong in the first place for guys who do know what they're talking about. It probably just shows how little people actually care about Everton in the grand scheme of things, though, more than anything else.

Another example earlier in the season is Jonathan Liew, who is a superb writer. He was on the Indy podcast raving about how Poch had totally nullified Jorginho when Spurs beat Chelsea. Saying it was the first time it had been done etc. Literally two weeks before, Silva had used the tactic of putting Gylfi on Jorginho and it had worked in the same way. Not even a mention.
