Whatever happened to the goths ?

In the 90s and early 2000s I would always see crowds of goths out and about in public wearing their favourite band T-shirt’s or whatever but i dont think I’ve seen a single goth in about a decade or more, its like they just vanished from society in the mid 2000s.

Have we got any goths on GOT ? Where did they all go ?

I remember there was always 100s by either the law courts or Chavasse Park in the 90s when it was still grass. Before I could drive I used to get the bus up to Goodison on Saturday's from the Paradise Street depot, there would be loads there.
I think they died when Quiggins Closed!

Thinking about it, it’s not just goths… I never see metalheads either or really any kind of group who can be easily spotted by how they dress.

Skaters are about the only “alternative” group of people i can think of who have survived the years and can still be spotted on high streets

There was a gang of goths in my sixth form college that took over a corner of the dining hall which we dubbed "Mordor" and it absolutely stunk going to the vending machine. Think between them they'd had 3 baths in a year.

It’s the music, a spin off, faster version of Goth.

Some of isn’t bad tbh.

I still listen to the likes of the Sisters of Mercy all the time.

He hasn’t been popular since the early 00’s. The music sub genre is very much still there, it’s just returned to the underground and has gone back to being called “industrial”.

Some time around the 6th century, they were pretty much completely assimilated with the Romani people of Hispania. Not long after that, around the 8th Century, the Arab conquests of Hispania and Iberia saw them all but wiped out.
