What would you do?

I'm sure some of you seen Crimewatch last night about that Mother who grassed her son up for putting that chap in Hospital. She done it via email whilst watching Crimewatch. Not sure whether he has recovered or not. So anyway...

Your a Father/Mother and you found out that your 10 year old son has put someone in Hospital, What do you do?

A) Do nothing
B) B0llock them but not tell none of your family or police.
C) Go straight to the police and get him done for 10years+

I wouldn't waste my sons life in prison, he's 10 and has it all to look forward to. I would blame myself, question myself where I went wrong and what I could do to make a better parent. He's my family and I'm not a snitch. He's all I've got in this world and I wouldn't let anything happen to him. I would deal with him and ensure he was on the straight and narrow, I would kick his head in when he was 18 if he never learned from this. Plus, I would disown him. While he is 10 I would take his console and stop him watching violent films.

Agree in some ways. Taking his console would be worse than putting him in a child prison or whatever they call it nowadays haha, kids LOVE them!

Can't see a ten year old getting put away for a ten stretch. I didn't see the programme so I don't know how badly the ten year old beat somebody though.

Probably B for me. Getting your kid put away for ten years is something I don't think they'd ever forgive you for. I don't think I could live with that. It'd be hard enough living with knowing what they'd done and it there'd be all kinds of soul-searching.

No mate, it could also make them worse instead of better. Alls he would know is prison life and would possibly be in and out all of his life. People who think the prison system "cures" people are wrong.

After reading that I would remove your child from your care for his own good. Welcome back mick.
 

I appreciate there's a certain amount of irony in what I said, but it really, really would save a lot of people's time and effort. Imagine all the meetings, all the action plans, the judges, solicitors, then after the verdict, all the living quarters, the meals, the washing, counselling education etc. .... only for them to be released years later and be done for child porn offences and start all over again.

Has a ring of familiarity about it really.

Keep it quiet so families stick together? Sure ... but what about, in the first place, the kid sticking to the family rules of not being a violent little $hit and bringing all manner of hell on another family that has to deal with the fallout? I never hit anyone when I were a kid, unless they went to hit me first .... because that's what I did to stay part of the family unit I was in. I was under no doubts my parents would have sent me off to Borstal if I had not complied.

A better solution, if families have to stick together, is put the whole family into a cell (for a shorter time) - we might see more responsible parenting then.
