What would a move from Goodison mean to you?

Hard enough to not feel football is changing massively and that fans are just consumers. I think changing ground would probably be the point I stopped going to the game.

alien technology looking stadium would be great , 60 k seater ... who would not like to play and come in that stad .Goodison has served evetonians well ,but you cant hold on to tim howard just because he was a good servant. We must move on to better things for the future.

In the States, it would be sacrilege to tear down places like Wrigley Field or Fenway Park.

To me, that's what Goodison is.

Find a way to renovate it, even if it's more expensive than building anew. You can't replace history.
My first impression of Wrigley field when I went inside....

Dump

Exactly, we should redevelop Goodison, that's 100% my first choice. It can be done and done in phases. We would lose something of the club's soul if we moved.

It is a dump, as is Fenway, as they are OLD but reek with history (and also the smells that century old building will leave).

A new stadium would be ok, i guess, but as long as @Mountfield1985 says, it can't be a cookie-cutter monstrosity, but something with character. Get an architect that built some of the newer american baseball stadiums - The Emirates and Etihad just look awful

The Emirates is absolutely superb mate, best stadium i've ever been to, and i've been to a few.

Each to their own, but I would hate a stadium like that. Soulless.

The prices they charge there have almost completely changed their, formerly working class, fanbase.
The prices are obviously ridiculous but the stadium is superb. I live near there and all the Arsenal fans I know love the stadium.

I honestly don't find it soulless, not like the identikit type stadiums that some teams have. It has its own identity and the acoustics are decent too. I think some times people confuse soul with memories. Goodison was new once - maybe some people called it soulless then, but it certainly isn't now.

It's a bit like the 'Trigger's Broom' scenario for me, if you completely rebuild Goodison stand by stand, get rid of the Archibald Leitch design and rebuild the local area to incorporate a walk up and fan zone etc, is it still Goodison? If a player gets changed in a different room, walks on to a rotated pitch and plays in front of fans in totally different stands, is he following in the footsteps of Dean, Ball and Southall any more than if he was playing in front of the same fans 3 or 4 miles away?

This is a big question that will probably be upon us at some point of relatively near future. How important to you is the Goodison Park and especially the location. What would it mean to you If we would be moving to new place ( what ever it might be -WHP OR some other place) off from the location where we are now.
Would it make us weaker or stronger against the other lot...or would we be giving the city into their hands by moving away..

The location means nowt to me.....in fact I find the environs around County Road and Spellow Lane quite dispiriting as I walk to the ground these days.

I will miss the stadium itself, though.

A proper old fashioned, Archibald Leitch style ground.

Probably the last of its type in the EPL.

But Goodison is the past.

Bring on the future.....hopefully by the waterfront and hopefully with a distinctive design and not yet another Emirates style bowl.

Oh....and please make it happen soon so's I can enjoy it for a couple of years before yer man with the scythe comes a' knocking on my door :(
