What would a move from Goodison mean to you?

This is a big question that will probably be upon us at some point of relatively near future. How important to you is the Goodison Park and especially the location. What would it mean to you If we would be moving to new place ( what ever it might be -WHP OR some other place) off from the location where we are now.
Would it make us weaker or stronger against the other lot...or would we be giving the city into their hands by moving away..

Why does everything have to be measured against 'the other lot'?

We need to compromise, its a bit of a balancing act. If moving a bit further afield will give us the chance at a modern, larger capacity stadium (which staying strictly local to Goodison may not) then we should go for it. However, if further afield means somewhere where our identity is diluted we should resist it.

While it will obviously not be the most important issue for club and fans alike, but there's one factor which I think has subtle importance.

That being the location of suitable drinking establishments (quality and in number) nearby to the ground to meet and socialise with friends.

We're extremely lucky with Goodison and for most, a pint with friends beforehand is mandatory; it's part of the experience. It's what we do!

If you go to many of these new stadia which are out of town or in remote locations, such as the Britannia or Reebok, there's no local boozers.

And if there are, then they're normally small in number. Does or would that have an affect on atmosphere? I'd tend to think it does.

We all love those special atmospheric games at Goodison, especially the night matches, and I personally think the build up plays a part in that.

Apart from that, location isn't too important for me. I travel from South Liverpool for each game so a little further or closer is mainly irrelevant.

Being situated in South Liverpool would obviously be ideal (loads of idol ground around Speke etc), although to me it's home is in the North.

I love Goodison... I truly do! And while ideally I'd love many aspects to be retained, but I'm not oblivious to the fact we need to move to progress.

It's home is Liverpool, Speke has plenty of land but would be almost as bad as Kirkby for me. No decent pubs and its grim.

The Mystery would be the ideal location for me. Open up the old Mossley Hill station.

It is obviously Liverpool, just for me it should be location is in the North of the City. Personally, I think it's part of the character of the club.

With the point of Speke I agree. By ideal I meant the proximity to my house, as I could easily jump on the bus or train and be home much sooner.

Great for me! Yet would it be ideal for the club? No, for as you mention Speke is grim, it's an area with no pubs and relatively poor transport links.

It's as close as to being an out-of-town within the city boundary as you can. The problem is there aren't many ideal locations which suit everyone.
