What will they all do?

Living where I do, we are not exactly over run with ex top class players, but I was chatting with my longtime postie today, a chap called Tom Ritchie. Tom played in Div 1 for Bristol City, and signed for Sunderland for £200k, in the late 70s. Good player.

We were wondering, what do the current crop of massively well paid players look forward to when they finish playing? Tom was looking forward to a "normal" job. Apart from the few that go into coaching/media/club work, what do they do as a millionaire, but retired at 35?

I think most go into punditry, not all. A lot retire and live of their investments. I know a few go into property development and commodity trading and et al.

Crazy how footballing times have changed recently. Mark Stein is currently the Crawley Town physio

He played for Chelsea in the 90's! Imagine Anelka, Torres or Drogba doing that in 10 years time?

Wonder if he took the job because he needed the work, or whether it was just something he really wanted to do?

They all go on about how they can never work again beyond 30 but I'd happily take that if it meant I got to have as much money as them and play golf and Masters footie for the rest of my days.

The pampered beauts.
