Has to be 1974 for me. Some people may say 1970 but they are wrong. WRONG I SAY!! ;)

Main reasons I would say so are
1 - 74 was more competitive, The Italians were too knackered to put up much of a fight in 1970
2 - The crowd in the 74 Final were more lively
3 - Cruyff was in it
4 - Johan Cryuff is awesome
5 - 74 had the added drama of the penalties for the both sides opening goals
6 - You had the excellent battle of "Total Football" Vs "Gruff German Efficency"
7 - Did I mention Johan Cryuff?

What Final is your favourite?

Watching the greatest international team of all-time take the piss out of a very strong Italian team probably.
 
None of the ones I've watched live were that exciting.

2006 probably for the Zidane drama.

Before my times but watched videos of: it's hard to beat 50 and 54 for the underdog value and 66 for the drama and the result.
 

The first WC I watched was the 1986, and that was by far the best that I remember. The Final itself West Germany vs Argentina was a classic match, swinging one way and then the other.

The other finals since then almost without exception have been niggling, nervous affairs, not really worthy of the stage.

1990 - West Germany vs Argentina rematch. Awful, shocking game. 2/10
1994 - Brazil vs Italy, tight affair. Any 0-0 is never a classic. 4/10
1998 - France battered a Brazilian team that didn't turn up. 5/10
2002 - Brazil vs Germany - Germans outclassed. 6/10
2006 - Italy vs France, Decent enough, but WTF Zidane 7/10
2010 - Netherlands vs Spain. Terrible game, the dutch trying to kicking the Spanish off the pitch. 4/10

1986 final was the best and closest final I reckon. Was tough to predict who would win and there were 5 goals.
1978 final always sticks in my mind, not so much for the game but the scenes before and afterwards which were amazing.
2002 final was good because my favourite player "the real" Ronaldo bossed the tournament.
1994 final only memorable because I watched it in a bar in Ibiza and Robbie Williams was stood at the back of the room and then proceeded to sprint down the road with a gaggle of birds in bikinis chasing him!
