SPOTTER

Player Valuation: £750k
We have a billionaire owner which gives us muscle but it's still only one billion. We have finished mid table in the premiership. We have a decent looking first eleven who people say are under performing and maybe we should definitely be top8 or even competing for Europe.Other so called smaller clubs have money to spend now too due to the tv revenue etc. What level of players do you think we are likely to be going for this summer?

Depends on the manager but i would hope:

Goalkeeper:
Robles = Done well but to be at the top we need a truly top class keeper.
NEW KEEPER : Leno/Rico or similar quality/age.

Defence
Coleman = Poor defensively for 2 years
Jagielka = Getting a few injuries now and not top class. No leader or organizer
Stones: Only 21
Mori: Done fine but needs to improve next season
Baines: Poor for 2 years
Garbutt: promising but dreadful at fulham
Oviedo: Average on a good day

WE NEED HUGE CHANGES

For the keeper £15-20mil should get leno or rico

Defence we need 2 new full backs and a centre back BUT id assess the kids first like galloway and connolly.

We need a leader in defence...£25-30mil top class player.

depends on if we win the cup or not. not saying moshiri won't open his wallet and have ambition, just that having European footie of some kind is useful in attracting players

Niasse on a free.

Niasse on a free?

Point is he is not going to throw silly money to get whatever he wants like multi billonaires can do.
Hes worth closer to 2 billion. And no one is expecting city like sprees, but 2 or 3 big money moves should be more than likely

I'm sure he would gladly open his wallet messi but what level of player do you think we can attract?

Businessmen don't get rich from spending money like its liquid helium through a sieve. The squad needs quite a bit of strengthening and I think we're looking at perhaps 1 or 2 big transfers (£20m+) and a host of smaller ones around £5m-£12m to create some competition for places and to have some back-up so we're not in the situation we're in now with having to recall loaned players.

I never thought I'd be praising Roy Hodgson, but I liked how he tried out different pairings of defenders for the national team in prep for Euros. I'd like to see us do that rather than expect the same three to rotate and gel together seamlessly. It's probably the most important pairing on the pitch.
