Only seen Breakfast Club from that list. Perhaps I am more 90's than 80's.
Breakfast club is relatively entertaining. The characters spend the entire film whinging about how they should not be pre-judged by stereotypes, but then the film concludes with Brian Johnson defining each character with stereotypical terminology, and then commenting on how amasing it was that such characters were able to get along with each other.
I guess the point being made was that the group could overcome stereotypes and get along with each other. But by referring to each other with stereotypical terminology in the films conclusion, it makes a mockery of the characters whinging about being pre-judged, imo.
The film ends up celebrating the coming together of different social groups, rather than denouncing the sterotypes and prejudging that plays a central theme in the movie. Imo.
