What happens to one hit wonders?

This reminds me of that film ''About A Boy''. Where Hugh Grant is living off the royalties of his dad's Christmas hit.

Watched that the other day, great film. I'm a big Hugh fan, don't judge me!!

I know someone who gets about 3k a year from royalties. He had a track played in Germany a few times on a TV show, I guess still does. That's genuinely it though. Weird

I hear Rick only made about $100 from that Rick Rolling thing or whatever it was called. No idea how you work that out though, it's obviously made him "famous" again

Most of the British one hit wonders from the 90s end up performing at student nights.

I think the solo artists have it tougher

In one hit wonder groups the various band members seem to just keep jogging around doing sessions

There were plenty in the 60's

There are one hit wonders and one hit wonders

1) one big song thats it, no more - ever...usually with good cause
2) one big song than a couple of minors eg No1 for 4 wks, No.17 for 1 wk, No 37 for 1wk.

Good thread.
