now you're gonna hear about it
A recent thread made me think about what I studied in College/University. I don't work in that field any longer but I have no regrets for that degree. If I had to go back to school, however, I'd almost certainly choose another field. So,

What did you study in college/university?
What would you study if you had to do it all over again?

At Sixth Form, History English Lit & Economics for A Levels. Didnt go to college/uni, but would have done History. Like ancient stuff, non of this neo modern history they seem to do now.

My lad had stuff I remember in his history syllabus ffs.

European Studies - would again, or something similar like International Relations, Development, Latin American politics, something like that. Don't work in that field unfortunately. Also a dream of mine to do a PhD in one of those subjects. Alas it won't happen.

Genetics and biochemistry. Was boss. One day I'd love to do some further study in immunology or something similar. The human disease/drug modules were always my favourite.

Studied Physics as wasn't sure what career I wanted and it was a good decision from that respect as a lot of different professions would accept it.

But I found it very difficult and dry after the first year, given my future career path I would have probably been better taking computing, economics or a general management course. But overall no regrets, just thankful I don't have to ever study the theory of relativity again.

Have a close friend who did a physics undergrad. He would stay up late studying string theory and emerge from his room in the morning, muttering incoherencies. He did very well in class.
