What brexit means for UK leagues.

Not really gonna change much IMO. Probably add extra to transfers that were always going up regardless when someone pays extortionate prices to shake up the market.

The points system will be so flimsy, it won't stop anything.

And I don't think clubs are stockpiling young foreign players much anymore, so hopefully drives clubs to rely on more homegrown players.

With their “umbrella” clubs Man City and Chelsea will still be able to get around most restrictions.

I thought this. But I suppose that crucial development time, having to be spent away from the club will not do them much good. You'd also imagine, if your a top talent, you'd just go to one of the other top European teams as opposed to going to one of the associated teams.

Its the 6 foreign players per season that concerns me. How will they sort that out with clubs current squads? Will players have an amnesty and be "naturalised " after so many seasons? If they enforce this right away it will really hurt our squad...

I'm sure the devil will be in the details allowing the big clubs some sort of advantage. It will be like how some clubs / players have easier times than others getting work permits

sounds like 6 foreign signings.

When did we last do that? Have we ever actually done that?

Mina, Gomes, Digne in a season?
Deulofeu, Joel another?

That lad from Sweden? That was only a couple months back.

There’s him and the Danish defender but it’s not often we shop abroad so I don’t think we’ll be too fussed. We’ve always gone locally for our academies. Get the odd curve ball like that weird Mathis signing. I think we’re in good shape with the new rules and how we’re set up.

I do hope its 6 signings and not 6 in the squad. I probably have misread it.

I could be wrong mate.

But just looks like a poorly written article.

Clubs will also be restricted to just three overseas signings under the age of 21 from January onwards, and only six foreign players per season moving forwards.

I've read that as 6 total, 3 U-21.
