Have been considering a different career now for a while, mainly due to the fragile nature of the work I do. I am passionate about what I do, but just wondering in 5 years time will there be a need for what I do.

It's worrying like.

I'm 35. I would need to go back to Uni, not sure if I can though.

Any thoughts? Is it too late?

I know a few people who have went back to Uni in their thirties to great success mate, why not?

It's unfortunate that rent boys have a limited life span but at least you're thinking about doing something about it.

Change mate. I said the first paragraph a while back, certainly words to that effect, and you bit my head off! ;lol:

Web design etc are very, very useful tools to have - but shouldn't be relied upon as the be all and end all of what you can offer.

At 35, you've got plenty of time.

139. After that, you'd better hold your guns.

It's never too late.

A mate of mine was in banking/finance for 20 years. At 38 he decided he wanted to be a teacher (jealous of me obv!) so handed his notice in and went to uni. He's now been a teacher for 10 years and loves it. You've got to have the bottle to do the big change, drop the income, live the student life, get saddled with student loans, etc etc.

Well recently have been thinking about it alot. Working for people who don't really have much of a clue, and what I fancy doing is something I wanted to do at school and that's architecture. 5 year study though, but 86% chance of career.

People are always going to want buildings designed, not really confident that people are going to need web designers, not enough to justify a career. Do I wait 5 years until the likes of Facebook and Twitter take over, as it's quite possible to have a business site without having to employ anyone, well I believe it will be eventually. But people are always going to want building designed. probably more so than ever.

It's just the financial implications of study.

Get drunk off cheap ale and finger experimental girls...

I would imagine that with web design orindeed anything computer based, you have to keep up with the latest tech andtime away can stop you from getting back into it (I found that with engineering). Plus there will be kids learning at high school what you went to uni to learn.

Some people only make successful careers very late on in life, some actors don't get their break until they should be retiring.

I would do some form of education if there were bursaries or grants available to fund it, but without that I haven't a hope.

So you'll be forty and you'll still be skint, a student. And there's no guarantee that it will come off and the job market will be the same. Also it's famously one of the most difficult degrees you can do.

If you do this, kudos my friend. kudos.
