To be honest, it's not a great idea. Our greatest ever player already has a statue, the more statues there are, the more it would dilute the significance.

Ball would be a start, but why not Royle too? Southall? Mountfield? Latchford? Kendall? We'd end up like a garden gnome collectors' wet dream. So give it a rest with moron shout and the not-so-covert fluff for your book

One statue is enough, as others have said. Dixie is our undeniable world-beater, and I don't think we should dilute that. It becomes muddy and subjective as to who you build statues for after that.

Putting that to one side, though, there's still a problem - and that's Goodison's footprint. Maybe if we had a ground with a bit more space around it we could get away with one statue per side. As it is, they'd all end up at the Park End and it just wouldn't work.

I have often thought as a club, we don't do enough for our former players and when we do it's when it's too late. For example we have had 2 World Cup winners at the club ie Ball and Wilson. We have lost a legend in Dave Hickson, so why have we no statues errected of these heros?

An idea perhaps at the start of the season when we are selling our season tickets, maybe the club should put £2 on each season ticket with let's say 26,000 sold giving us a total of £52k which would be enough surely to pay for at least one statue.
Wouldn't it be great to have someone to kep Dixie company?

IMO, we should honour George Mahon, the first chairman of EFC and the man responsible for the move to Goodison and determined to keep Everton a club controlled by the membership. He's the epitome of the anti-Kenwright chairman: no BS, got a stadium built, respected the wishes of the people who matter most.

Nice idea but i bet you anything George never spent his childhood in the boys pen and searched 24/7 for investment and planning permission. I would love to see a statue of the "Holy Trinity" personally. It was before my time so i can comment on how good they were but the i like the idea that these legends are remembered.

Yeah, the Holy Trinity has been done by United with Best, Law, Charlton, but that shouldn't stop us from honouring our three greats.
