What’s your favourite railway journey?

Krakow to Budapest - marvellous scenery, especially in the morning if you get the night train.

Want to do:

The Siberian Express from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok - just feels like one heck of a challenge.

Kuranda Scenic Railway in Australia is incredible.

I'd also recommend the very dusty, slow Oruro to Uyuni trip in Bolivia.

I've had some magical train journeys, love travelling by rail.

Sri Lanka was possibly the most beautiful, around the coast and then through the hills and tea plantations.

However my personal favourite is going down to South Devon. After you leave Exeter you see the water and then ride next to the water all the way to Torquay (for me). It was the moment you knew you were truly on holiday as a kid, I lived in Torquay for a few years and had to have meetings in Exeter and never got tired of that journey.
