Anyone else feel a bit disappointed? I loved the first season but despite a few strong episodes I just couldn't get in to season 2 the same, and the finale was a bit of a let down in parts.

Oh - I thought the season 2 finale was magnificent. Absolutely brilliantly put together.

Id be happy if it just ended here, thought final episode was a very satisfying end... not sure it needs a season 3 although if they think they can take it a new interesting direction then I've no complaints.

Maybe I need to watch it again, it was decent but I just expected more.

They basically went to 'host heaven', that was it!
The escape was good, but the whole library thing was like the matrix. Why did she bring back Bernard? And then tell him they'll likely be enemies.

She brought back Bernard because she prioritised the survival of the new species - knowing that he had the abilities, knowledge and will to do so - and that them 'competing' would drive them on even further. Bernard was also recognised by the system so he had voice / fingerprint recognition .

'Host heaven' I thought was really effective. Heaven as a retreat into the mind / soul is an age-old concept, she also couldn't risk bringing them all into the real world as that would instantly start a purge / war against them.

The speculation now is, who has survived in the five beads? Obviously Bernard and Delores left outside the beads, but who was in Hale's body after Delores returned to her normal body? Maeve will be resurrected by the two technicians, Stubbs's smirk after letting Delores through was imitating Ford - was it actually Ford too?

that sounds about right regarding Bernard, I can go with that.

But the Host heaven wasn't created by Delores it was Ford's thing, and why did he create the game for William to get to it, when he couldn't have gone there anyway? What was William's payoff from the game? Unless it's the realisation that he was a host all along, and it was to test his fidelity, but from what I’ve read since from the creators, the host William is way in the future.

It did appear that Stubbs may in fact be a host with Ford on board. I’d guess the five beads to be Bernard, Teddy, Peter Abernathy, Ford and a copy of Delores. Who would you guess?

As I said I just felt season 2 was nowhere near as strong as season 1. It had some great episodes but some really slow/poor ones as well. And all the little battles reminded me loads of the Planet of Apes tv series kind of thing.

Didn't enjoy this series much. They've overcomplicated what was a very good concept. It's essentially a supernatural bullshit show now.

Season started strong, wobbled a bit mid season then came back for a decent end.

My main criticism is that it all got a bit too meta with the excessive time jumping.

Rumours are it could be 2020 before season 3 :(
