Chris

a whole wheel of cheese?
"To be 3-0 down after about 30 minutes was not nice," Holden told evertonTV.

"But I thought some of the boys showed a great reaction to what was going on and we came away with a little bit of respect with a 4-2 defeat.

"It was end to end stuff and their goalkeeper made saves and ours never. If you analyse the goals that went in, Stefan (Wessels) will look at himself and hold his hands up and say he should have probably saved two of them."

I've seen our very own James Blunt play a few times and he has not looked a bad stopper like, but does the above give us cause for concern do you think?

Bearing in mind Baines was also part of this team and Vic, Vaughny etc

Or has Chris Woods been administering his ' special goalkeeping training methods' again ? Wessels was never going to be serious competition fot Tim Howards place, the future, for now, still lies in the hands of Ruddy / Turner. Wessels on the other hand was only brought in for his experience in the Bundesliga, and i'd be surprised if he was still here come the start of next season.

Vim, Wessels always gives me nightmares mate that rival Wrongy's efforts in goal. I want to see his hairy arse leave at the end of the season, he no doubt will drop his pay packet on the way out(n)(n)

Funny how Wessels has gone down hill.

His first two performancs brought out the inevitable "What about Wessels vs. Howard?" threads.

Personally, I was never sold on him as anything other than a reserve.

I agree with that totally Bill, he was never meant to be anything but a reserve but surely we can find better just to give competition to Tim Howard(y)

wessels looked decent in his first game then went down hill.

I still get very nervous every time tim howard comes out for a cross.

Absolutely.

That and what if Howard goes down? Then you want someone that your back four will have confidence in.

Does Wessels give them that confidence? Does Ruddy or Turner?

Dont rate either goalie to be honest, Wessels looks extremely dodgy and looks like the Hoff while Howard has look shaky at times this season as well. I think in the long run a new 1st choice is needed

By all accounts, Turner isn't the future and Ruddy is a better prospect apparently. But you have to look at how many goalies play regularly at a young age...not many, and either or both of these might [Poor language removed] off before they get a fair crack of the whip I think.

Ruddy is meant to be brilliant.
