Sorry for being negative again, but were the 70s worse than the 90s? We were champs going into the decade , we won the fa cup in the nighties, flirted with relegation, both decades were crap but which was worse? im just asking? sarky comments are very welcome lol...Im only starting a thread not a world war so chill out if you dont like it and move on lol

Not being alive in the 70s I can't have balanced opinion but with the RS being much better than they were in the 90s, the 70s must have been much worse.

ive done the facts the 70s were a nightmare for us, thanks for replying, im hoping to hear from someone who was there, latchford was a plus i bet ,and for some reason in 77 we had really high attendences, and flags lol

For those of us who went to the games during the 70's it was desperately bleak after the Championship win in 1970 when you stopped to think about it,but we are Evertonians and we got on with it and for me as a young lad I still had the excitement of the games, you went there thinking you could win every game and you still idolised the likes of Duncan MacKenzie and had your lionheart Mick Lyons,we had some very poor attendances in those days as well which were embarrassing.
The 90's in some way didn't seem as bad although by that time I was living in Scotland, I guess the standout bad times where our flirtation with relegation which although was very really seemed impossible to comprehend.

71 onwards we were still half decent but not good enough and quite boring to watch under Bingham. Gordon Lee rolls along and even though he did not like stars like Duncan McKenzie he still had us playing some really enjoyable football. 77 we reached the League Cup Final (marathon) and was robbed against the RS in the FA semi. This all gave us back our sense of belief but alas even though we were good we just fell short. Lees team fell apart when he was forced to introduce youth and he was sacked early 80's. 70's far superior than the 90's

We won the cup in the 90's but the 70's team were far better and we had a few hard luck stories. 90's we were absolute garbage barring 95/96[/QUO
