Welsh Premier League

Season started last night with a 1-1 draw played out between Rhyl and Bangor.

Today's fixtures:

22.08. 14:30 Airbus v Carmarthen
22.08. 14:30 Connah's Q. v Newtown
22.08. 14:30 Haverfordwest v TNS
22.08. 14:30 Port Talbot v Bala Town
22.08. 17:15 Llandudno v Aberystwyth

Due to going to Aberystwyth for a weekend once I'm supporting them.

The Welsh premier league is getting stronger every year, ok the attendances might be chronic but the level of football has improved vastly. You only have to look at some of the Welsh teams performances in Europe this season to see they are not whipping boys anymore. TNS will be favorites again and Airbus will be up there, i have a sneaky feeling that Connahs Quay Nomads will do well this season as they have made some very good signings inc Les Davies who scores for fun at this level. Ok it might not be the level of the top 5 leagues in England but i enjoy watching local football....ROUGH AND READY

They do, a fair few of them either young lads who have not made the grade or ones coming to the end of their career.

yeah he seems a nice bloke.... only met him briefly like but was impressed with him as a coach.

I spent a week in Bangor for a conference once. I was to go to a game but it was postponed, I met a few Bangor supporters and had a few beers with them. One took my address and sent me a club polo shirt. Descent lads.

Connah's quay is were Roy Vernon was spotted, our scout wanted to sign him there, and then but got lost to find Vernons house, Blackburns scout found it!
