Saliba
Player Valuation: £8m
Driving to University this morning I put some Bocelli on and pretty much wanted to cry, haven't felt like this over football before, let alone a player leaving. It just shows how much this club actually means to the people, something which supporters of other clubs just don't understand.
The late Peter "Bullfrog" Moore, former CEO of the Canterbury Bankstown Rugby League club here in Australia once said "A Club is not about the four walls surrounding us. It's about the people the four walls surround." This statement epitomises Everton Football Club, it epitomises the passion that the supporters of this club have, it epitomises the ethic of the players at this club, it epitomises the dedication of the staff. No matter who comes or who goes this club will stand strong. We haven't been in the top flight longer than every other club because we ponder about what could have been. There has been worse before and there will be worse to come, but at the end of the day we will manage to get through, because that IS the Everton way.
Arteta is a major loss, and although I don't have faith in the board to turn around our current predicament, I have faith in "the people the four walls surround" as a whole to get the club seeing bright days again. Never give up, Never lose pride.
Needed to write this from the heart after seeing how everyone's feeling the same way, I know, it is absolute crap
