Well said that man!

Some of you have probably seen this abomination today:

(A newspaper journo reckons Phil Jones is about to be axed by Man Utd)

That'd be the Phil Jones that has been man of the match in 2 of our 3 premier league matches? It's Evans and Smalling that should be worried, not Jones.

I'd love the journo's job though - getting paid a fortune to write absolute rubbish day in, day out.

Good on the lad.

He is right. Social media can easily destroy a story that is fabricated these days and that should be the case.

However, regrettably, social media can also spread fabricated stories and solidify them in "truth" by the sheer volume of exposure. The "no smoke without fire" theory...

Good post, very true.

Dont know why people get worked up by football journos any more. They write tosh by and large. They are actually more interesting when they are on a radio panel, cos they are obviously quite close to certain clubs.

It's not that I get wound up by them. I don't let football wind me up in any way, shape or form in my old age (when I was in my 20s I'd get furious at refs etc but I'm too old for that shizzle now.)

I'm just astounded to how they get paid top dollar to make up stuff like "Man U willing to break then bank for JOE ALLEN!"

It was worse this summer than any I've witnessed before, too.

You sure it was joe allen and not the spanish joe allen (xavi) ? Haha

Haha! That Joe Allen one was a belter!

Its like today. The missus gets the Mail on saturday for the puzzles, and I get the Telegraph for the crossword.

BOTH sports sections had "exclusives" with Beckham. Word for word, pretty much identical bits of copy. I bet the others had it as well.

They get spoon fed junk, and top and tail it.

Journos. Lolz

They basically get paid to troll football fans and a fine job they're doing!
I know the lad who wrote this piece. He said there was substance to it but the shyte knew we wouldn't sell and that it says all this in the story.

So why write it? Just professional trolling as you say.

Jaglieka didn't start mate so they need to blame someone for the sloppy second half against a crap danish team, they won't blame Cahill thats for sure so Jones is the easy scapegoat - really their just preparing to lay blame for when England lose to the Swizz by laying down stories prior.

For what its worth, i don't overly rate him, mainly due to him being played all over the shop the last few seasons, if he gets to be a perm fixture for ya at cb though he will turn into a solid player their and some of last years mistakes will occur less often as he settles into his proper role - the rest though still look shakey as hell at cb
