Sadly I think the LUFC of the early 2000s set an example of how not to run a club. Spurs a few years ago were in a similar position to us, on a great run in the Champions League, and since then they've been trying to get back in, with some people were worrying that they would "do a Leeds", but I think they're more financially secure than we were.

That whole fiasco was basically a dyed in the wool Leeds fan (Ridsdale) trying to live the dream, as the saying goes.

Half of our squad are loanees, though probably not of the calibre of Barry or Lukaku!

We are actually 3 games away from potentially finishing outside the CL positions... in 5th place no less.. on 78 points!
That's a top 2 or 3 place in 8/10 seasons, possibly a first that that sort of figure hasn't got CL.
Be gutted if we didn't get it due to a freak season like that.
Last season 78 points got 2nd, the season before, the current 69 points we've got, was enough to secure 4th and we have 3 games left.
Very unlucky timing for Martinez this year.
