I think they deserve some credit for getting the club to cave and replace their sponsor.
Going from a company that preys on people struggling to make ends meet with one that represents the town well.
The old one was a payday loan company and the new one is a company that has sprung up from their university "Fibrlec are a new Bolton-based sustainable energy company that specialise in commercialising the university's innovative smart materials"

Good news, but its a bit odd that a Championship football clubs main sponsor is a company that doesnt have an active website, doesnt have an actual address (its formation address according to Companies House is 73 Croston Road, Bury - a single story accountants office), which was incorporated in March 2013, and whose director (according to a whois on the fibrlec.com reserved address) still uses his work (diesel generator repair, for those who are curious) email address.

Just a pity that it took the supporters to force it. Owners and chairman should have some cop-on, especially with traditionally community based clubs like Bolton. If you own a football club and have no qualms about whose name you want sponsoring your club's shirt then have the sense to steer clear of the bread and butter teams.

Tempted, naturally. But it would depend on what team I ran. Chelski or the likes, yeah, grab the money, sell your nan and buy 20 yachts! But knowing Everton, Bolton, Burnley, traditional teams with some soul and the like, there would be huge animosity felt by the fan base which wouldn't be worth it and possibly play against you in the future.
