Everton centre back Joseph Yobo has discouraged a return to Goodison Park following his season-long loan with Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Although Yobo referred to the Club as ´family´, the Nigerian distanced himself with a return back to Merseyside.

Yobo: "It´s a difficult one for me because Everton is like family to me. The supporters, the manager, the chairman, everyone.

"But I am enjoying myself at the moment at Fenerbahce and the most important thing is being happy, and towards the end, I wasn´t happy. I am contracted to Everton but I don´t really think I´ll be going back there.

"Because the most important thing is even if I go back there, and I am not happy, that won´t be good.

"I can´t thank the supporters enough, and I enjoyed my time at Everton. Some of my best memories in my career were at Everton and I can never forget that."

Tremendous servant to the Club.

Shame that! Indeed a great servant to us

I guess in reality he's 4th choice centre back probably and we could get fairly decent money for him, which unfortunately, we obviously need. Good luck Joey Yobo

I wouldn't be saying good bye just yet. You can't count on us to agree a fee for joey with fenerbache and he could well be back with us come the summer time.

Shame but if we get a decent fee then everyone will be 'happy' as he put it.

Was chuffed when we got him beards ago, guess just time to move on...weird that he's enjoying himself at Fernerbache, I thought i'd read he'd been injured for ages over there.

If he could pass a ball and didnt lose concentration...he'd be 1st name on the team sheet for me.

He was like a rock in games...and that back 3 of Jags, Yobo and Lescott was probably as solid a defence Moyes has ever assembled IMO.

I would like to say goodbye thanks for the great years of service but I'm pretty sure fenerbache are being tight over the price, not wanting to pay the agreed £5mil pricetag. Think they wanna pay half that and they can do one the tight bastards. Reckon he'll be here come next summer.

Shame that.

In his prime he was one of the best defenders I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Seemed a good guy too; he was the first Everton player I ever asked for an autograph. I think I was like 11 and said "Mr Yobo sir can you please sign this please?". He didn't slap me, and I would have slapped an 11 year old RFUS, so fair play.

Anyway, would we get about £5m? Plus £8m for Heitinga and the £3m+ for Peanuts/Yak/Vaughan loan fees. If we can get a CB in on the cheap that might give us some decent funds to spend. Well, some funds at least.

If he doesn't go to the Turks he'll go to someone like Celtic.

He done really well for us and not so long ago was our best centre half at the club. Then we went a bit ace and he was a bit crap.

I still think Real Madrid turning his head was the start of the end for his time with us, shame on them.

Good luck Joey.

As I said on the facebook comments, Joey realises that he'd only be back up if he were to return to us as he was before he left therefore he wouldn't be happy. That's fair enough and I wish him all the best. Was a very important player for us for many years.

Cannot blame him not wanting to return. Return to what, no doubt he has been seeing the games played and probably glad to be out in Turkey, far better there than being a perrenial bench warmer here.

He had the potential to be world class, unfortunately something went wrong along the way(probably the day he stopped to tie his lace just before Andy Reid equalised for charlton at the valley!!!!)
