The best part was the blogger Andrew Breitbart seizing the podium just before the now-standard apology press conference, and berating the assembled hacks who claimed the story was made up:

I dont particularly buy into the whole left-wing-media-bias theory, but you do have to wonder what on earth is going on when a reporter can think that a married US Congressman posting a picture of his love length to all of his twitter followers (instead of a woman who isnt his wife), and then lying about it, isnt a story. Especially when his name is Weiner.
