Wearing a replica jersey as a grown man

On TalkSport last week, Adrian Durham was ranting about fellas that wear football tops - to the match! I was bemused by it. He questioned what kind of man wears a replica jersey to a game (although he was ok with people wearing it under a jacket for example).

Am I the only one who finds this baffling? Surely, if a grown man is going to wear a football jersey anywhere, it's at the match, to show his colours. Not just in football, but in every other major sport as well.

I haven't bought a football top since my early 20s, but if I did, I'd wear my Everton top to Goodison. With that in mind, am I a pleb, or is Durham talking out of his arse again?

5-a-side, and going the game. That's it.

Unless of course you're an RS fan, where apparently it's completely acceptable to sport one to breakfast when staying in a hotel. I'm not a regular hotel frequenter, but every time I do, you can guarantee one of the mouth-breathers will be there, bedecked in their finest garb, tucking into their full English. Usually an away shirt.
