Those things are very worthy and all, but they don't paint the whole picture of society do they? America is bashed for its inequalities, yet their universities remain unequaled in the whole world, with people flocking from far and wide to study there.

Their rate of invention and innovation is also without peer, with many of the innovations we have grown to love and depend upon originating from the US. It's been widely reported recently for instance that the majority of US start-ups are begun by migrants to the country.

It seems easy to brand the US as some kind of mad max society, yet there are clearly some exceptional things about the place too. Would those exceptional elements occur if it were more egalitarian?

I understand investors and investment very well. Take my word for it.

Somehow, Buffett seemed to have missed the spending issue this country has in his commentary you link above. Funny that.

By the sound of that your investment strategy will have outperformed Buffet's then....so come on down TX your takeover of Everton FC is awaited, and if Bill doesn't accept a reasonable offer you can use reasonable Texas persuasion on him.

Seemed pretty comprehensive to me.

Only if you agree that other countries consistently outperforming them in innovation rankings doesn't matter.

My investment strategy has nothing to do with Buffett's. Some similarities but very few. And unfortunately I don't have near a fraction of what would be required by Bill to buy Everton. Would be nice though...
