By the end of January we could be stairing in to the abyss of a ruined season that promiseed so much before a ball was kicked
By the end of January we could be stairing in to the abyss of a ruined season that promiseed so much before a ball was kicked. We went in to December thinking here our chance to be 4th or better, instead we find ourselves in 11th 9 points of top 4 and only 1 win in 7 league games, an that 1 win was only because Newcastle missed 2 sitters.
So we come to a crossroads we have 5 matches left before the Transfer window closes and to say these matches are huge is an understatement, We face City away tonight, followed by Chelsea away on Saturday Swansea at home followed by City away again in the Cup and to finish off an away tie in the fa cup.
We go to City tonight in the league as a prequel to the Cup semi. In recent years we have had a terrible run at the Etihad and with Lukaku struggling and Howard in the nets, it could be another long night.
Chelsea away, what can I say? Haven't won there in at least 12 years. There having a rotten season, however if they win tonight and beat us on Saturday they are above us. The worse part is Chelsea seemed to have turned a corner in recent weeks under New management.
So we come to Swansea at home, the reverse fixture saw both teams battling for 6th and ended in a draw, this time it could see both teams battling for 14th. Yes their having a poor season but this is a tough home fixture as we have the Semi a few days later and the players might not be fully focused.
City away in the cup, again a massive game and a draw or better will see us in to our first Cup final in years, the quality of City squad is something we can only dream about.
Finally the Fa Cup, whoever we play it will be a tough game away from home and a big banana skin.
They say seasons make a manager well this month will decide where our 50/50 fan base lies with Martinez, completely fail and the fan base will be screaming for his head. Although he is probably safe in his job.
Be victorieous and make himself a hero and push us on.
There are 4 paths we can take (Lose all, win 1, win 2-3 and win them all)and I'm hoping it's a positive one.
Otherwise come Febuary it could be looking bleak
