Player Valuation: £50m
I hope the atmosphere in the squad hasnt been influenced by the bumper deals cahill and arteta signed in the summer, if all is to be believed, then yakubu has got 50k parity.

it was there for the taking today, and the third goal was preventable, it proved costly, god i hate newcastle.

I thought Yakubu was on 55k?

Yeah, but he's proving value for money at the moment, so it's not a problem.

I don't see why it would cause some players to not play as well as they could. I still see players like Lescott and McFadden putting in solid performances regardless. And really, you'd have to be quite silly to not see the huge contribution that Arteta makes to the team.

and the contribution of yakubu? and cahill injured for 6 months....and your agent in your ears saying, "your worth more"... "chelsea need a CB".... "hook up with xabi at the [Poor language removed]".... "tottenham need a replacement for defoe".... "the hammers have aus players their and need a good goal scorer like you in the first eleven"...

Based on performances this season Joelon should be paid twice as much as some and ten more than the Yak(y)

I wouldn't have thought that wages would have played a part in our troubles this season, but it does raise an interesting question.

When was the last time we sold a player that we didn't really want to sell? I can't think of one since Rooney, which in itself is a pretty good sign of our progress that we've managed to hang on to all the players we wanted to keep.

Killa may just enter that category Bruce but your point is valid mate(y)

Agree on Kilbane, but otherwise... Gravesen perhaps?

But I agree that it feels great to be able to keep the players we want to have here. The squad is shaping up nicely playerwise.. now if we just could increase our numbers a bit and get the shakey defence solid again.. (y)
