We don't wear Snoods..

At one point, my feed on igoogle said one of our lads was on the sidelines shirtless pouring water on himself to cool off, that was around the 20th minute. Men against boys.

That was Cahill after a bang on the head that left the City player off being treated for 8 minutes. Timmy came straight back on.

On the 'snood' thing, I kinda feel I should defend them as I wear one when I'm riding my bike, but then you have wind chill to contend with. Can't see the point of wearing one to play football. Stick a base layer on underneath your jersey and get out there.

different disciplines, cycling and football. And considering the speed you pick up on a bike the wind chill isn't just uncomfortable I imagine.

But people have been playing football for hundreds of years without snoods. Psychologically, I think it had a big impact on them.

City's prima donna's turned up, looked at the snowy conditions, put gloves and snoods on...

we just rolled our sleeves up and got stuck in.

Still annoyed with pienaar wearing gloves though. (generally)

Exactly. In cycling you typically wear one to stave off bronchitis in the cold, or if you're descending a mountain you'll use a newspaper or something for insulation from the wind chill. Pretty unlikely you'll suffer from that in football though so it is a pointless garmant. A good base layer will do far more for you. Gloves I can 'maybe' understand, but to be honest no player should be stood still long enough to get cold in their extremeties so as long as their core is kept warm that should do the trick.

You've convinced me that for bike riding snoods may be appropriate.

But for football. The players get out there. Leave the scarves to the supporters.

If they're putting the effort in they should be warm enough no matter how cold it is.
