Player Valuation: £150k
This is from David Moyes himself..

Some of them are going to have to start looking at their own performances because we don’t have any competition just now.

“Maybe it is a little bit easy for them. We don’t have enough players to cope with what we have got just now. It’s a big concern.

“We can’t hide the fact that we need new players. Everybody knows it. We have to get five or six players in before the season starts.”

When asked if he could see any imminent movement in the transfer market - Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Moutinho tops the wanted list - Moyes replied: “Not at the moment, no. We are in a poor, poor situation regarding going forward.”

This is taken from the Liverpool Echo website...

Now I am starting to really worry after this!!!

we are in deep, deep [Poor language removed]!!! something has changed dramatically, unless moyes is forcing the board into action

I dont see the problem?

He means going forward ie strikers.

Meaning he wants to sign a striker first.

Im 100% sure what he thinks, all he is saying is moutinho isnt top of the list because that position isnt priority, a striker is as we are a poor situation as to who we have upfront at the moment.

erm thats an optimistic view...

But he means going forward as a team, somethings happened and Moyes is not happy that is all too obvious by this public outburst..

Im getting nervous now and usually I am an optimistic and a floater (ie dont post much) but Im concerned VERY concerned..

Read the sentence carefully and you can see he means moutinho isn't top of list because hes not priority "not at the moment no" "we are poor going forward" meaning he wants a striker then moutinho.

It should be priority, we only have four midfielders and one is injured.

I think the problem is the quote "No, not at the moment" is the worrying bit.

they asked him is he top of list? he said "No, not at the moment" then explained we are poor up front, ie he thinks we are in more need of a striker, then possibly moutinho will be top of the list once its sorted.

I have and the bit about Moutinho is put in by the Echo (Moutinho tops Everton list), not the actual question asked.

The question was "When asked if he could see any imminent movement in the transfer market"
Moyes: Not at the moment, No.

keeping his cards close to his chest.

He told the official site there would be, so i read nothing into it.

Unless he's been informed that he won't be able to have as much cash he thought because the AJ deal has changed and that some of the cash has to go to Palace.

we only have 1 striker (vaughan injured/suspended and anichebe at olympics)

We only have three midfielders, Van der Meyde and Cahill won't be fit for the start of the season.

Midfield is priority, someone like Osman could play off Yakubu or even young Baxter. We need a midfield.
