Wayne Rooney said:
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that his boyhood love for Everton has not been diminished during his time at Old Trafford.

Rooney was born and bred in the city of Liverpool and grew up with the Toffees almost a part of his DNA.

Although hs relationship with the club soured a little after his move down the East Lancs Road, Everton are still the team closest to his heart.
"I love Everton, I grew up supporting Everton and want them to win," he told the Toffees' official website.

"In footballing terms I felt I had to move on but I still want Everton to win and that is never going to change.

"All my family are Everton fans, my son has his Everton kit now! Everton is still a big part of my life."

Rooney also encountered the Everton fans at last season's FA Cup final when the Merseyiders were beaten by Chelsea.

He encountered no problems with them though and shared their disappointment at the defeat.

"I was a bit nervous because I walked in through the Everton fans," he recalled.

"To be honest though the Everton fans were brilliant that day.

"When Louis scored it was a great feeling! I still think there are trophies there for Everton to win but unfortunately it didn't happened that year."

I can honestly see him returning when he's like 30 odd.

Watched the interviews on everton.tv.

He speaks soundly as you'd expect, still fuming he left and kissed the badge and stuff but he's clearly a blue as he said he fumed about Jeffers leaving.

I would love to have Rooney back at Goodison but if it is a choice between Rooney and Moyes, the manager wins hands down everytime.

The Boy is a blue nose. Toffee and all that.

But he has a job to do. He screwed up with the badge kissing, but he is a blue.

End of!!!!!!!!!!!!!
