By the way, I had an interesting conversation last night with the Head of Aon, MU's principal sponsors. He said it was the best sponsorship deal they have ever done, hence extending the deal by a further 8 years to 2021.
He said United work harder than any other club/organisation they know at creating value for their sponsors. This year alone United will receive sponsorship revenue of £160m but will spend £40 million in supporting their sponsors.
The United Ambassadors (Alex Ferguson, Dennis Law, Peter Schmeichel for example) travel the world promoting the club and their sponsors. They get paid hugely for this role but the payback for the club and sponsors is huge also.
