Great time in Germany, will post some pics later. Travel plans screwed by air traffic control problems so now in a taxi from Dusseldorf to Brussels to catch Eurostar in time for this afternoons game.

Although the atmosphere created by both sets of fans was pretty amazing their newish stadium is just a concrete bowl with little charm. Was thinking how awful it would be for Everton to move from GP to something similar.

Borussia Moenchengladbach always make some noise, as do Schalke. I saw Moenchengladbach away at Stuttgart a week last Friday night. About 4,000 of them travelled down, loads of pyro and plenty of noise. Cracking atmosphere under the lights.

Agree bflefc, both fans were very noisy and it was tremendous to see terraces at both ends of the pitch. No shoving and swaying as in the days of old but lots of choreographed jumping up and down which looks spectacular.

Good match as well BM winning 2-1 albeit the winner coming from a penalty for handball which no-one in the crowd including BM supporters saw (ref gave a red card for it too).

The game was noticeably slower than the premiership both defenses sat pretty deep and just allowed the ball to be passed across midfield. Much more space in the game and less shoving and tussling than you see in the English game.

Thoroughly enjoyable even if the ATC technical fault made me take a 250 km taxi ride and catch the Eurostar from Brussels. Even worse I left my car in the short term car park at T5 and was charged for 48 hours so all in all a very expensive football match!

First time bflefc - will definitely go again, I would like to see Bayern given the form they are in at present plus of course, everyone wants to see Dortmund....

Do you live in Germany or just enjoy going there for the football, bear and curryworst?

Off to the Old Trafford Director's box this afternoon/evening courtesy of a Man Utd Director, should be a good gig, will post more later.

Might even bump into Moyes after the game...

Very good time at Old Trafford last night even if the game was pretty average to say the least.

Spent a long time chatting with Sir Bobby Charlton - what a lovely man he is, he was highly complimentary of Everton's victory at Old Trafford. Great to talk to him about his England days - I had a photograph taken with him and I holding the Premiership trophy - I told him next year he can visit Goodison and have another photo taken there!

Many many other former footballers too, and just before leaving met with DM - I told him I was delighted to see him there, I don't think he got the joke....

Good night all round.
