Watches are the one thing I will spend a bit of money on. Have a decent little collection with a couple of Maurice Lacroix, a Christopher Ward C60 trident, a tag f1 and a Raymond Weil Parsifal dress watch. Was wondering whether anyone else collects watches and if there are any people recommend either new or second hand for less than £1000.

Don't get paying out thousands for a watch unless you want people to know how much money you have.

Can understand a rolex for a couple hundred sure, good well made watch to last you, but they all tell the time so why spend more out on it? Pay the extra for craftmanship but not to be showing off.

Best value for money watch I ever bought cost me $9.50 in Calgary Airport - kept perfect time for nearly ten years.
$9.50 Canadian was about £4 at the time !!!
After that, paid £14 for a watch from Aldi - still going strong five years on.

Cheapskate. You're a man after my own heart.

I've got an ALDI watch that's going strong after a couple of years. My Sekonda died in six months.

The whole idea you're paying for quality is a bit misleading.

kopites will be ebaying their 'Tags' if you wanna pick up a bargain

Watches are clearly two different things, depending on how you want to view them. They're either a device for telling the time, or their a piece of jewellery.

I appreciate the design of expensive watches, but I definitely fall into the first category.

A couple of hundred? lol

Try again mate

people who are into watches are bellends

Thanks mate, as I say it is the one thing I will spoil myself with. Dont have loads of money and its not as if im a city trader showing off in front of my mates or anything like that. I just like to know that I have something that is a certain quality that I can enjoy and hopefully one day my boy can appreciate too.
